Supporting learners who need more than standard tuition.

Every learner’s situation is different. Polygon Pedagogues supports children and young people who may need education outside the traditional classroom, additional support alongside school, or personalised tuition during a period of transition.

Pupils with SEND

Adapted teaching, clear routines, patient explanation and flexible pacing for learners with SEND, including ADHD, ASD, sensory processing difficulties, SEMH, communication needs and complex needs where provision is suitable.

Pupils out of school

Structured education support for learners currently unable to access mainstream school, including pupils with reduced attendance, school avoidance, medical needs or a period of educational disruption.

Awaiting placement

Interim tuition while school, SEND, EHCP, alternative provision or local authority arrangements are being reviewed or finalised.

Anxiety or medical needs

Flexible learning for pupils who may find regular school attendance difficult due to emotional, health or confidence barriers.

Excluded pupils

Education support for learners who have been excluded, are at risk of exclusion, or need structured re-engagement before returning to a wider learning environment.

Complex or severe needs

Referrals for complex presentations are considered carefully through suitability, safeguarding and risk review before tuition begins.

Home education

Structured tuition in English, Maths, Science and other subjects for home-educated learners who need consistency, planning and progress feedback.

G

GCSE and Functional Skills learners

Targeted support for learners preparing for GCSEs, resits, Functional Skills or practical next steps in education, training or employment.

R

Reintegration support

Tuition can support routines, confidence and readiness for reintegration where this is appropriate and agreed with the referrer or family.

What support can look like

  • Short, focused sessions for learners who tire quickly.
  • Longer provision blocks for pupils requiring structured alternative education.
  • Confidence-building through small achievable tasks and clear feedback.
  • Regular attendance and progress updates for professional referrers.

Suitability matters

Before provision begins, we review learning needs, safeguarding information, risk factors, delivery setting, tutor availability and referral goals. This helps ensure the planned support is safe, realistic and appropriate.
